This 4th of July, you can celebrate hope

There’s no secret about it: America is changing for the better. As many people may have noticed, the old order based on hatred at the expense of liberty is beginning to collapse as both the people and the government fight back against it, as was shown by the Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage, the removal of the Confederate flag from South Carolina’s State Capitol, the Oklahoma Court ruling against the Ten Commandments monument being erected on state property, and the increasing backlash of the people against intolerance towards people for their race, religion, and sexual orientation among other things.

That’s why I say that, for those who live in America or care about America in some way, this 4th of July can be celebrated with the theme of hope in mind. Specifically, the hope that America will restore its way and regain sight of the most important things: liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness, and the hope that the misplaced anger, fear, and hatred directed against the liberty of the people will be defeated, and its voices forgotten as traitors to the country, while everyone else can open their eyes to what it means to be free, and what it means to stay free.

Happy 4th of July America. Make this year a good one for liberty and justice, and do not disappoint us. Know at heart why you celebrate this day, and make the best of it you can. And most importantly, remember that this day marked independence from tyranny, not the establishment of tyranny.
